Last week, from November 11 to 15, we joined organizations around the world in celebrating World Quality Week, with World Quality Day falling on November 14. These events were a great chance to reflect on why quality matters so much in everything we do at Advanced Marine.
For us, quality isn’t just a box to tick—it’s the foundation of our work. Our ISO 9001:2015 certification, accredited by LRQA, isn’t just a formality. It’s proof of our dedication to safe and reliable practices, both in the products we supply and the services we provide
One of the ways we stay true to this commitment is by insisting on genuine products. For example, we only supply authentic Kirby Morgan spare parts. There’s a temptation in the industry to cut costs by turning to cheaper, counterfeit parts, but we’ve never gone down that road.
Counterfeit parts might save a few dollars in the short term, but they can put diver safety and equipment reliability at serious risk. That’s not a gamble we’re willing to take. Our clients trust us to deliver equipment they can rely on, and we take that trust seriously.
It’s not just about the products. The same attention to quality runs through the services we provide. A recent example was a pre-service evaluation we carried out for a client’s external Bell cylinders.
When we inspected the cylinders, we found corrosion that had developed under neck collars that hadn’t been removed for years. Saltwater had built up in these areas, causing pitting and crevice corrosion that significantly weakened the cylinders. We recommended removing the damaged cylinders from service immediately to ensure safety.
This kind of attention to detail is at the heart of what we do. We’re not just meeting standards; we’re protecting the people who rely on our work.
World Quality Week was a great reminder of why quality matters, but for us, it’s something we focus on every day. Whether we’re selecting products, performing inspections, or supporting our clients, we always aim to do things the right way.
At Advanced Marine, we’re proud of the role we play in keeping divers and their equipment safe. Quality isn’t just part of our process—it’s who we are.
